Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park is one of the most unique areas in Alberta. The campground is located on the largest island within Lac La Biche and can only be accessed by a long causeway! No other provincial park in Alberta can be accessed in such an interesting way! The campground offers beautiful campsites that are either by the lake or completely surrounded by the old-growth, mixed boreal forest. The sites are excellent for tenting, but also can accommodate a fair sized unit. Some sites might be a little too small for larger units though. The area also has great recreational activities! The sandy beaches here are absolutely stunning and a great place to catch some rays. There are two trails that are a fantastic way to explore the island. Along the trails there are several great vantage points for viewing the many bird species that call this area home! It is really a bird watcher's paradise. This park is a must visit!
This campground has 72 sites. It is open from May 7th to October 13th.
